Statement of the Chairman of the Award’s Supervisory Committee
Private sector companies, employees, and business service centres have always been, and will continue to be, the main components of the local business environment, which the UAE is keen on enhancing by developing pioneering best practices that have been instilled for more than half a century of the Union. Through the Emirates Labour Market Award, we highlight our appreciation and gratitude to these entities’ contributions in enhancing the competitiveness of the business environment and aligning with the government’s directives to grow priority sectors that will shape the economy of the future.
As we accelerate the development of the business environment to meet the fast-paced changes locally and globally, we believe in the importance of following a clear roadmap and utilising an integrated governance framework that guarantees the availability of equipped and proficient local and international talents that can support the UAE and contribute to its objective of enhancing its position in all economic sectors. The framework will also pave the way for the balanced participation of both employment parties – employers and employees alike – within an integrated ecosystem that governs the local job market, and boosts its status globally by forging a partnership with the private sector.
For our part, we continue to strengthen this effective partnership by recognising private sector companies, highlighting best practices, honouring the owners of distinguished employers, and employees that are a valuable addition to the business environment. This is why the Emirates Labour Market Award was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Presidential Court, and inspired by the vision of our wise leadership in enhancing the UAE’s advanced, sustainable, and integrated ecosystem that the UAE has, which is prepared to accelerating the pace to build an integrated economy among the biggest and fastest growing in the world.
