Statement by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan
I would like to extend my greetings to all investors and workers in our vibrant private sector, which has played a constant role in, and made distinct contributions to, the economy of the United Arab Emirates. I would also like to extend our gratitude to the leaders of this sector and to each individual who has written a line in the success story of our country and added a brick to the edifice of the UAE labour market.
This is an example of what the directions of national development, growth and investment should be: a labour market that is shared by all and an active and prosperous business environment, operating within an integrated network of security and safeguarding schemes, ultimately transforming our country into a pioneering business hub and an attractive destination for talent, businesses and capital.
The UAE continues to develop its investment environment, relying on its strategic foundations, its resilient economic system, the ease of doing business and the application of economic strategies stimulating economic diversification. It relies, too, on the continuous modernisation of legislation, laws and public policies, as well as on the encouragement of innovation, research and development, strengthening the regulatory and administrative frameworks for main sectors.
All of this is ensured under the umbrella of a fair judicial system, the rule of law and a civilised lifestyle in an open, multicultural society, all of which is making the UAE an attractive destination for companies both international and regional.
Today, and through the Emirates Labour Market Award that was launched by the UAE’s Cabinet last March, we are adding a new chapter to the already numerous chapters of honouring distinct practices, institutions and leading businessmen and employees. We are doing so in order to highlight the competitiveness, attractiveness and sustainability of the UAE labour market, and to boost its productivity and efficiency to support the journey of comprehensive and sustainable development, in line with the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan
Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Presidential Court
